Trending in Master Data Management

by |

Master Data Management (MDM) is experiencing significant trends that are reshaping how organizations manage and leverage their critical business data. Two trends we are seeing are the adoption of cloud solutions and the incorporation of AI and ML in MDM solutions.

With regard to the cloud, we are seeing the adoption of cloud-based MDM solutions. As businesses continue to embrace cloud technologies for their agility and scalability, MDM is following suit. Cloud-based MDM allows organizations to centralize and synchronize their master data across various systems and applications, providing a more efficient and flexible approach to data management. This trend is particularly crucial in today’s dynamic business environment, where the ability to adapt quickly to changing data requirements is a competitive advantage.

Two Multi-Domain MDM platforms that we like are EnterWorks MDM by Precisely and Reltio. Both companies have unique offerings with regard to their MDM Products. Reltio has a cloud-native offering that utilizes Google Cloud Spanner for scalability, performance, and reliability. EnterWorks MDM offers a fully managed and hosted Multi Domain MDM solution that not only gives you the power of the Cloud but offloads the uptime and maintenance burden from their customers.

Another key trend in Master Data Management is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities. With the growing volumes of data, organizations are turning to AI and ML to enhance data quality, automate data governance processes through RPA technologies, and derive insights from their master data. These technologies can assist in identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, reducing manual efforts, and ensuring that master data is accurate and up-to-date. The integration of AI and ML in MDM empowers organizations to unlock the full potential of their data, driving better decision-making and business outcomes.

One of the things we are personally excited about at C2/Xerox is the combined strength of C2’s MDM expertise combined with the RPA and AI expertise from Xerox. As we move into 2024 we are excited about combining our strengths to help our customers succeed against their competition.

In conclusion, Master Data Management is undergoing significant transformations driven by the adoption of cloud-based solutions and the integration of AI and ML. As organizations recognize the critical role of high-quality master data in their decision-making processes, these trends are shaping the future of MDM, enabling businesses to harness the full potential of their data assets in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
