#TBT: Dakin Farm & Our First eCommerce Site, Circa 1995
Here’s one for the scrapbook: Sam Cutting waxes nostalgic for the start of Dakin Farm’s stellar success—and is kind enough to mention C2 and our involvement in creating that eCommerce success!

Sam is always a pleasure to work with and we are humbled to have been a part of such a pivotal part in Dakin Farm’s business as they entered a new eBusiness frontier.
eCommerce has been central to C2’s digital mission since our debut using the Microsoft Merchant Server platform in 1995. Sam and C2’s founder Melissa Dever still reminisce about that launch conference in California less than a year later – Bill Gates was there to welcome the first 24 companies to become Merchant Server vendors, which would later prove to be a key force in igniting what we know as eCommerce today.
Even with all the changes to eBusiness and eCommerce over the last several decades, the one thing that remains the same is people. We love working with great companies like Dakin Farm, and the great people—like Sam—who make those companies successful.
Of course, back in the 90’s, building an effective eCommerce site was mostly custom development and trial & error. Since then we’ve perfected the process and partnered with world-class eCommerce platforms to help businesses like Sam’s find their own amazing profitability. Who would have imagined how the landscape of commerce would be changed forever as we moved collectively into the digital age?
A special thanks to Sam and Dakin Farm for the shout out to C2!
