25 years is a profound milestone. We’re a quarter of a century old. If C2 were a person, we could now (finally) legally rent a car.

Well, technically we’re not yet 25. The official anniversary will be in April. But we’ll be celebrating throughout 2018, and we hope to have some fun surprises in store for our team, our clients and our partners.

In case you’re new to our world, here are some key milestones we’ve hit on this journey. In 1993, four veteran IT and management experts collaborated on a daring idea. It had to do with the fundamental purpose of information technology. What was IT really for? What could it accomplish?

Mind you, at this time, Tim Berners-Lee’s World Wide Web (or “information superhighway” as it were) was barely four years old. But we like to think we had a unique perspective on the future. Specifically, we understood that the core promise of IT was to make businesses more competitive.

United in that mission, we marched forward. We experienced seismic changes over our first decade. After immersing ourselves in client-server tech, the emergence of the PC era forced us to reinvent. And just as we were getting settled, the rise of the web changed everything again in a huge way. Over the years, specific technologies and solutions came and went. But we stayed on our feet throughout unpredictable epochs by focusing on the mission: Make businesses more competitive.

We also had a secret weapon in our arsenal: a great internal culture. To that end, we took time and care to recruit the right people, meaning entrepreneurial, self-starting, business-and-tech savvy, and full of curiosity. We like to have fun, and we embrace adventure.

It hasn’t always been easy. In 2014, we sadly lost one of our co-founders, Carolyn Edwards, a visionary entrepreneur and mentor to many at C2. We’re proud to honor Carolyn’s legacy, and we believe she’d be excited to see our progress. And we will continue to invest in our people, our technology and our relationships.

So what’s next?

Well, 2018 is already off to a bang. We recently added some incredible new talent to the team, as well as building out our Board of Advisory team, bringing in Cairn Cross, co-founder of FreshTracks Capital and former Juniper Networks Executive, Judy Beningson.

We have much more in store for our Silver Anniversary, including retrospectives on past projects and celebrations of our employees, clients, and all those who’ve made our success possible.
