C2 Teammates Shine at Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge

by |

On May 16, C2 employees showed up in force to run/walk in the annual Vermont Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race—and made a very respectable showing overall. We had fantastic weather for the race, and even better results—and we had a lot of fun in the process!

Some of the highlights of C2 teams include the following:

-Our top performer was Alex Enns, who placed 102nd out of 2553 runners with a pace of 20:57.

-Team C2 Walking Team 3 (Ben, Jay and Blaze) finished in First Place in the Male Division.

-Team Maximum Security J (Marty, Jim and Paul) finished 7th in the Male Division.

-Team Triple Crown (Delvis, Laura and Bob) finished 5th in the Mixed Division.

-All our walking teams finished within the top 10 of their respective divisions!

The Corporate Cup Challenge and State Agency Race is a 5K team running/walking event for Vermont-based businesses, non-profit groups and government agencies, designed to promote physical fitness both at work and at home. Since its early beginnings in 1980 as a 10K run for state employees, the Corporate Cup eventually switched to a 5K run and expanded to include private business and non-profit groups. The race now attracts thousands of runners every year.

All proceeds of the Corporate Cup Challenge after expenses go to the Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports to promote physical fitness through a variety of initiatives. In 2018, the council was able to distribute $15,000 among four organizations to develop new health and fitness-related initiatives.

A huge shout-out to all our Corporate Cup participants this year. Thanks for contributing to our community and for doing C2 proud!
