Splunk allows users to collect, analyze and act on machine data produced by an organization. It aggregates this data into a single web interface giving users better visibility into their systems, tools and environments. Splunk’s goal is to “make machine data accessible, useable and valuable to everyone.”

With so much data available, where should you start? More importantly, how can you quickly assess the value Splunk provides?

Yesterday, we were pleased to have Todd Kelley, a C2 Founding Partner, President and Managed Services Team Lead take some time to answer these questions at our “Achieving Fast Time-to-Value with Splunk” webinar. Todd walked attendees through the process of installing the Splunk with its free license, which allows users to ingest up to 500MB of data per day. He also demonstrated how to add data, showing the basics of how to use Splunk in order to make sense of some simple machine data.

In the second half of the webinar, Todd demonstrated the capabilities of a full installation of Splunk with the Windows Infrastructure Premium app. He showed how Splunk is able to monitor and diagnose issues within an organization’s windows infrastructure.
