Senior SharePoint Developer

Position Summary
Architects, develops and deploys scalable enterprise applications using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS) and Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (WWS 3.0)-based applications for C2 clients. Consults with clients to understand their needs and business goals, and communicates the strategic value of using SharePoint to achieve those goals. Mentors and oversees the work of junior-level developers.

This new position is a great opportunity for a classically trained software engineer with depth in SharePoint, passion for its use as a solution, and the ability and interest to contribute at both a strategic and technical level.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their needs and communicate value and use of SharePoint as a strategic business tool
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts to determine requirements
  • Serve as Technical Architect to design, develop and deploy scalable enterprise applications for C2 clients
  • Mentor junior-level developers in Web technologies, including SharePoint and software development best practices
  • Architect and develop SharePoint solutions from concept through deployment to production environments
  • Conduct performance and scalability testing, and capacity analysis/planning
  • Create custom lists and views using SharePoint Designer
  • Create and maintain master and layout pages
  • Implement taxonomies as defined by Business Analysts
  • Keep current with technology trends and developments in the industry and participate in C2 service development

Knowledge, Skills & Certifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience with .NET technologies (ASP.NET, C#, VS.NET and Web Parts)
  • Minimum of three years of experience with SharePoint/WSS/MOSS application development and developing application pages/list event handlers. Optimally, will have worked with SharePoint since its inception
  • Minimum of three years management experience
  • Ability to work effectively with clients in a consulting role as business analyst, solution architect and project manager
  • The ability to mentor and oversee work of junior-level developers
  • Knowledge of web application development, and experience in developing custom web parts and integrating enterprise content with SharePoint to include content indexing, personalization, workflow and restricting access to content
  • Strong experience with XML, WSDL, Web Services, InfoPath, Web Parts, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, DHTML, CSS and Active Directory
  • Knowledge of relational databases including Oracle, SQL Server 2005/2008, SQL Reporting Services and SQL Analysis Services
  • Experience with business intelligence inside of SharePoint using out of the box and custom development
  • Experience with application and user security models
  • Strong understanding of the SDLC with SharePoint projects
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills are a must
